Kenvil Post 2833 is hosting a “VFW Venison Dinner” at 6:30 p.m. today at the Kenvil Post 2833, located at 16 High Street in Kenvil.

Appetizers and dinner will be held at 7 p.m. Tap beer, cake, coffee, soda and water included. Door prizes, 50/50 raffle and cash bar available. A $30 donation is requested.


The Morris County Prosecutor's Office is urging county residents to participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this Saturday at locations across Morris County.

Drop off locations include: Stop and Shop Supermarket, 245 Littleton Road, Morris Plains; Morris Township Municipal Parking Lot, 191 Speedwell Ave., Morris Township; ACME Supermarket, 690 Millbrook Road, Randolph.

There also will be collection points in Chatham Borough, Chatham Township, Chester Township, Florham Park, Harding, Jefferson, Mendham Township, Parsippany, and at Picatinny Arsenal, plus neighboring towns to Morris County, including Bedminster, Hopatcong, and Wayne. Those unable to make this date can log on to safehealthymorris for a list of permanent drop box locations nearest them.


A prayerful gathering will be held Saturday at the Planned Parenthood facility at 196 Speedwell Ave. in Morristown starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 11 a.m This event is one of a variety of activities taking place at more than 130 Planned Parenthood centers across the United States—including rallies, marches, prayer vigils and protests—marking the second annual National Day of Prayer and Protest Against Planned Parenthood, according to a press release from organizers.

This nationwide day of prayer and protest at Planned Parenthood facilities is being coordinated by #ProtestPP, a coalition of more than 70 national, state and local pro-life organizations. The group is calling for Planned Parenthood to be stripped of their federal funding, and for all such funding to be redirected to Federally Qualified Health Centers that do not perform abortions.
